We are a food manufacturer, distributor and we are looking for someone who is energetic, looks forward to challenges and has a desire to learn and grow with our food processing company.
The candidate will fulfill duties in both our Accounting and General Administration departments.

Terms of Employment
Full Time

Regular work schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (8 hours/day)

Anticipated start date
December 1, 2017

Main Job Duties
Assist the manager in all facets of our Accounting and General Administration Department’s responsibilities. The candidate’s duties will focus on Accounting related responsibilities and assist current staff in General Administrative duties.

Accounting duties will include, but are not limited to;
• Maintain, update files and records
• Maintain accounting databases by entering data into the computer
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare and coordinate deposit activities
• Prepare and submit customer statements
• Monitor customer accounts for unpaid invoices and days overdue
• Prepare payments
• Analyze vendor statements for discrepancies and unpaid invoices
• Audit petty cash

General office administrative duties will include, but are not limited to;
• Reception duties (telephone calls, visitors, assisting HR for guest care)
• Maintain, update files and records (incl. assisting in reviewing service/lease contracts)
• Monitor office environment and organize repairs and services
• Organize, prepare schedule for periodical office related maintenance (incl. insurance, business license, auto lease, auto maintenance, office equipment lease, special cleaning, etc.)
• Liaison with outside services

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years work experience in an office setting
• Some previous experience in Accounting related duties
• Basic bookkeeping knowledge is preferable
• Completion of accounting related courses is preferable
• Proficient in usage of computers (Accounting software, Word, Excel, e-mail, internet)
• Good Time management and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills (speaking, reading, writing) in English
• Attention to detail
• Good mathematical skills
• Quick learner and self-starter under minimal supervision
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada permanently
• Good second language (Japanese/ Mandarin) communication skill is preferable
• Driver’s license is an asset
• Able to speak and/or understand Japanese, and/or understand Japanese culture would be an asset

Remuneration
To be negotiated

Standard procedures would be a 3 months probation period, followed by promotion (if acceptable) to full time with monthly salary w/ O/T, medical / dental benefits, sick pay benefits, bonus opportunities.
