Japan—Working Holiday
Canada – Japan youth mobility agreement changes
Starting April 1, 2025, Japanese citizens can now participate in IEC twice for up to 12 months per participation. Under the previous agreement, Japanese citizens could only participate once.
If you already participated once under the previous agreement
Description: The Working Holiday category is designed for Japanese citizens who intend to travel in Canada and who wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their trip (up to 12 months).
Note: As a Japanese citizen, you may participate in IEC twice.
To be eligible for the Working Holiday category, you must
be a Japanese citizen
have a valid Japanese passport for the duration of your stay in Canada
Your work permit in Canada can’t be valid longer than your passport.
prove you’re a resident of Japan when you apply
This means you must give either a residential or mailing address in Japan.
be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive)
have a minimum of CAN$2,500 to help cover your expenses in Canada
have health insurance for the duration of your stay
You may have to present evidence of this insurance when you enter Canada.
not be inadmissible to Canada
have, before departure, a round-trip ticket or demonstrate that you’ll have the financial resources to purchase a departure ticket at the end of your authorized stay in Canada
not be accompanied by dependants
pay the fees
日本 - ワーキングホリデー
カナダ - 日本青少年交流協定の変更
2025年4月1日より、日本国民はワーキングホリデーに2回参加でき、1回につき最長12か月間まで参加できます。以前の協定では、日本国民は1回のみ参加できました。
以前の協定で既に1回参加している場合
説明：ワーキングホリデー制度は、カナダへの渡航を予定し、渡航費（最長12か月間）を補うために一時的な有給雇用を希望する日本国民を対象としています。
注：日本国民は、ワーキングホリデーに2回参加できます。
ワーキングホリデー制度の対象となるには、以下の条件を満たす必要があります。
日本国民であること
カナダ滞在期間中有効な日本のパスポートを所持していること
カナダでの就労許可の有効期限は、パスポートの有効期限を超えてはなりません
申請時に日本居住者であることを証明すること
つまり、日本国内の住所または郵送先住所のいずれかを提出する必要があります。
18歳から30歳まで（30歳を含む）であること
カナダでの滞在費を賄うために最低2,500カナダドルを保有していること
滞在期間中、健康保険に加入していること
カナダ入国時に、この保険の証明書を提示しなければならない場合があります
カナダへの入国拒否の対象となっていないこと
出発前に往復航空券を所持しているか、カナダでの滞在期間終了時に出国航空券を購入するための資金力があることを証明できること
扶養家族を同伴していないこと
